In Chanthanimit, Chanthaburi, its antiques and small sitting spaces are central to the character. The older guest accounts suggest choosing it for that atmosphere, while checking the practical room details carefully.
Small spaces with individual furniture
One photograph looks along a timber porch with coloured hanging lamps and greenery beyond. Another shows a compact bed beside a curtained window, while a third shows an antique-style metal bed and chair. The rooms and common spaces look individually furnished rather than repeated from a standard hotel plan.
That visual character fits guest descriptions of reclaimed timber and collected antiques. It does not, however, establish the room’s cooling or mosquito protection today. A charming bed frame and an old wooden wall are aesthetic details; sleeping comfort depends on the actual room offered.

Cedric Y, who stayed in September 2017, described green grounds, recycled timber and antique furniture. The account distinguishes fan-and-mosquito-net arrangements from an air-conditioned option and mentions mosquitoes as a practical trade-off. An earlier November 2016 guest also described fans, nets and firm mattresses.
These are historical observations. They explain why cooling and bedding are sensible questions, but they do not establish the present inventory or the cost of an upgrade. A December 2020 guest, Narayantravelogue, particularly valued the host’s local advice and the artistic collection, describing an experience closer to a homestay than a standard amenity-led hotel.
Choose the house deliberately
Banchan 9 is worth considering when you want a small, individual place and are interested in its timber-and-antique character. Confirm whether the selected room has air conditioning or a fan, what insect screens or nets are provided, and the current bathroom arrangement.
The detailed guest evidence is older, so a current room confirmation matters more than an assumed continuation of every past service. The homestay’s appeal is strongest when the house itself is part of what you want from Chanthaburi, rather than a backdrop expected to behave like a modern hotel block.
