Tambai Resort review: simple bungalows in Phang Nga

Tambai Resort in Phang Nga offers a small-scale bungalow setting rather than the facilities of a large holiday resort. Its Agoda photographs show covered porches, simple bedrooms and greenery around the accommodation. An older guest account adds a more specific picture of the stay, including air conditioning, parking beside the bungalow and the realities of being close to nature.

A porch and a simple bedroom

The bungalow exteriors in the supplied photographs have individual covered areas with seating. Inside, the photographed bedroom has a double bed, a television and air conditioning. The rooms look straightforward, with the outdoor setting doing more to distinguish the property than elaborate furnishings.

A solo traveller who stayed in May 2017 described a clean, air-conditioned bungalow with a double bed and a Thai-style shower room. They also reported a parking space for the bungalow. Those observations are useful historical context, but they do not verify today’s room condition or the allocation of parking for a new booking.

What the natural setting involved

The same guest spent time watching birds and fireflies from the balcony, and mentioned ants getting inside. The account makes the appeal and the limitation easy to understand together. Sitting outside was part of the enjoyment; the boundary between the room and its surroundings was not entirely sealed.

The traveller also found the entrance difficult to identify because of the Thai signage. That detail belongs to their 2017 arrival and should not be read as proof that the signs remain unchanged. It is more revealing of Tambai’s modest scale than a generic promise of effortless resort service.

Agoda continues to list Tambai Resort in Phang Nga, while Tripadvisor identifies the property at 7/4 Moo 2. For someone considering a bungalow stay, the strongest evidenced reason to look here is the simple room-and-porch arrangement. There is not enough recent detail to promise the same wildlife, dining arrangements or level of upkeep described in that earlier stay.
